Samsung Galaxy S8 Expected to Include Bixby AI

Article by:  Sound Accounting & Technology LLC

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 is expected to include a new verbally commanded Artificial Intelligence Assistant named Bixby to replace Samsung’s S Voice. Bixby is expected to provide users with a voice query experience similar to Siri or Google Assistant.   Users currently have the ability on Galaxy S7 (no, not the exploding Note) to say “Ok Google” to search for answers to their questions. The Navigate hands free feature on the S7 device is also well loved by this author for the ability to navigate hands free both inside and outside the car. Headphones or other in-ear devices can keep the verbal responses from Google private. Speaking, of course is another story. Samsung’s Bixby is said to work across natively installed apps on the S8 device. It will be interesting to see how this next generation of voice recognition functionality adds value to the user experience in the open market.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is currently expected to be released April 2017.
